Question by curiousj: What to wear and act like in Paris?
I am a 15 year old going to Europe with my family for spring break. We are going to London, Paris, Venice, Rome, Sicily, and maybe somewhere in Germany. I am really exited except my family is horribly obvious tourists. I care most about how we are presented in Paris. I would like to know how to dress and act in Paris without getting too much attention drawn to us. I know about the no white shoes rule and no pastel colors but how should I piece together outfits? I also know not to wear shorts or skirts that show my legs and belly shirts. I am willing to go buy clothes for my trip.
My style is normally tights boots a black (usually tight) skirt or black shorts with a coat and a cute top. I am pretty into the tights trend but i also like jeans and a top it just depends on the occasion.
PLEASE NO BULLSHIT ANSWERS OR “BE YOURSELF WHO CARES YOUR ON VACATION” I am not looking for that kind of answer.
P.S. I have a nice Nikon camera that I am planning on bringing. I was wondering if i will look like a total tourist taking pictures the whole time?

Answer by Milan Delille Well, I live in Paris so first of all welcome to Paris, it is a great city.
But of course you can’t hide totally to be a tourist – people will notice you don’t speak French and if you have your camera around your neck taking pictures all the time, well then it’s obvious.
Let me still give you some tips:
Paris is very famous for fashion and art. People dress fashionable like everywhere else in France. I don’t know how fashion will be yet, but you could watch the people there and then if you can define a special cloth or trend they sport then just get one and you will be a part of it.
What is important is, that French people are not so good or don’t like to talk English. You would be very honored if you learn the most important phrases in French, like “Thank you = Merci” and so on. Also in a restaurant like “The bill please” to the waiter or “Good evening” and so on. That could earn you a lot of positive points from French People.
A very special tip what I like in Paris besides Eiffel Tower, Sacre-Coeur, Montmartre, Louvre, Notre-Dame…: The quarter Quartier Latin south of Seine is a very beautiful part of Paris with many coffee shops, restaurants, shops and not so many tourists. You shouldn’t miss it. And please try the famous “Crème Brulée”, it’s a French Dessert, just order it or write it down to remember, you will love it.
Hope I helped,
Milan

Question by Alanna: My mom chooses men over me?
My entire life, I have been moved around, (from connecticut, to europe, to arizona) because of my mother’s relationships. I am now 17, just turned, and my mom of course has another horrible boyfriend. Here’s a little example from the past. I moved to Europe when I was 2 because my mom was leaving my dad for a European man. She moved my brother and I out there and when he didn’t want to take the next step with her after 4 years of learning the language and becoming accustom to the lifestyle, we had to move to Arizona. I was held back because I didn’t speak English. I struggled in school with other children. I saw guys walk in and out of my life and then she met steve. She knew him for 4 months and then they got married. Steve pushed me around and called me names, I was on 8, she always let him and even tagged along. Then Steve beat her and he could have killed her. Then she met Michael, her current boyfriend. She disappeared for 5 days over winter break and ignored me. She came back with him, the first time I met him he moved in. She barely knew him! Turns out he is in his late 40′s, hasn’t had a job since the 80′s and lives in his mom’s basement. 3 years later and he is still here, except, they go out of their way to make me miserable. They team up on me and tell me I won’t go anywhere in life and I’m a loser and they call me names and she’s been physical with me. She lets him treat me badly. Now if I retort back, they get even more vicious. I try to talk to her about it. She never listens. Ever since I was little my mom has chosen things over me,once she went out partying and I was babysitting my 9 month old cousin in California on “vacation” he was sick and he got me terribly ill, I was puking crying and he was puking and crying, so I called them to come home. Not only did I wait hours for my family to return but when they came home and saw me crying in pain they went to the bathroom to get high on weed! I am tired of her acting like a teenager, she stripped me of my childhood, my teen years, and took my youth away from me. What can I do? I feel stuck. All she does is drink and make me miserable with her fat lazy boyfriend.
My dad is an alcoholic. I had grandparent’s but my grandfather sexually abused me while my mom had me in his care. There’s no where I can go. I think I should save up money and try to move out, she tells me all the time she wants me gone anyways.

Answer by Jane S Try to hang in there a little longer. Can you go away to college? It sounds like you are trying really hard to live an emotionally healthy life and your mom has LOTS of issues! Do you have someone you can confide in? Is there anywhere else you can go to live where you will be safe? You are in an abusive relationship with your mom and I give you lots and lots of credit for asking for help! That’s really a great thing you just did! Where is your biological father. How would you feel about contacting him to help? Do you have grandparents who might help you too? You aren’t alone, it’s just going to take a bit of time to figure out what to do and I wish you luck!

Question by Tim S: Explain Legal Residence to me?
I’m from Europe, interested in moving to the United States via the employment based Visa. I know I’m supposed to find an employer who’s willing to vouch for me (and pay a certain sum to immigration), which I can do on a six month “scouting vacation” before I make my move. But I’m also aware that I need to have a legal place to stay. Does this have to be a house or appartment? Because I am looking to live permanently in a sufficiently large RV. Can I just rent an apartment and use that as “legal residence”? Or can I even list my RV+RV park as legal residence?
Best answer:
Answer by MikeGolf As long as you can provide a valid physical address for where you are living you will be fine. You will need to contact the RV park beforehand to see if they allow long-term residents.
Question by Sammy: Dealing with Rude Brothers?
My dad died Jan 10 from a freak accident at work. It has devastated the whole family and we are having an extremely tough time dealing with the loss of such a beautiful person.
Anyway, his two sons from Europe (my older half-brothers) have flown in this week to attend the funeral. And I am angry because all my brothers talk about is “Lets go out! Im bored! When are we going to Hollywood or a club?!?” and I want to just scream at them and say “DID YOU FORGET YOU ARE HERE FOR YOUR DADS FUNERAL!!!!! NOT A VACATION!!!!!!”
What should I do with them? One is 28, and one is 37…and they are acting like little children! And no one is in the mood to keep them entertained at such a tragic time.
Best answer:
Answer by Soccabum93 I think that you should just try and take your brothers out of the picture while there at your house, and just focus on the funeral. Although you want to, you cant force someone to morn for a lost one if they dont want to, but you should do whatever you want to do, and let your brothers do the same. Also, i am very sorry for your loss, and i hope everything is ok.
